The Airline Diner

The fifth of installment of the Vetements del Vol series but only the second full length collection within the VDV program. The Airline Diner is a historical diner in Astoria, Queens. The Airline Diner is part of the Jackson Hole restaurant chain, a restaurant our creator Justin Brock has been frequenting with his father since he was a child. His latest visit with his father to the Astoria location jumpstarted the inspiration for the collection. The Airline Diner was most notably in the movie Goodfellas, starring a plethora of film stars. The diner's interior encapsulates what was so fresh and modern about the facade in America at the time. Loud prints, vibrant colors, fluid furniture, and soulful music filled the walls of diners in America during the 60's and 70's.

The collection pulls inspiration from 60s' and 70's travel and diner culture and interiors in America. Diners have become an American staple since their inception during the early 1900s. During this same moment of the 70's, the luxury airline Concorde was conceived. Ushering a whole new lifestyle and charm for travel for those who could afford it. The goal of Vetements del Vol is to make the luxury of Concorde accessible to the common person. The collection is not meant to be a period piece, but a call and response to the past trends of the 60s and 70s while designing for a hunger for future trends in men's and women's fashion.

Welcome to our journey together.
